19 – being Hidden with Christ until the Rapture - David Wills - 2025

Introduction

Before I can expound on the significance of 19, I need to lay the groundwork for where its basic meaning comes from. As has been shown in my other articles, many numbers in the bible get their significance from the events described in Genesis in relation to the ‘Fall of Man’. While I have discussed some of this in detail elsewhere, it is worth repeating some of it here to provide some further details, as well as some context for the patterns that God has established in connection to the number 19.

In this way, I will be able to show how 19 both links to being ‘Hidden with Christ’ and points to a time when those who have put their faith in Him will be caught up or ‘Raptured’ to be with Him forever. The Caveat here is that while the time frame is certainly soon, I am not being dogmatic about this because God is sovereign and while He has a appointed time for everything, He is rich in mercy and as He says in 2 Peter 3, He does not want any to be lost. So, while the ‘Day of the Lord’ may be slow to come, according to our reckoning, if He delays, this is to allow all to have a chance to repent because He does not want anyone to be lost:

9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

The Fall of Man

With that said, it is important to note that as there was originally no Sin when God created the world, Man 'in Adam' walked with God in what could have been a never-ending cycle of Sabbaths(שַׁבַּת־), which were and still are all about the stopping from our work and resting in God - this is our purpose to walk with God forever. These Sabbaths were always meant to be special times of intimacy between us and our Creator whose love for us is so great that He would literally die for us. They are based upon the number 7, which itself is a deep revelation about the nature of God to His special Image Bearers. He wants us to know that He has a 7-fold nature to His Spirit, and so reveals this to us in Isaiah 11:

2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; Isaiah 11:2

Clearly, God is infinite and so in this sense is not restricted to a particular number of characteristics, but for the purpose of Redemption He wants us to know that in Him are all the qualities that we will ever require to overcome Sin in our lives, and these are revealed in connection with these 7 attributes:

Spirit of the Lord (H3068. יְהוָֹה yehōwāh or Jehovah)He is the Great I AM who WAS and IS and WILL BE - everything that exists only exists in HIM. If we allow this truth, that God is the only Self Existant one, to fill our hearts and minds, we can begin to order our lives in a way that will lead us into victory over Sin and Death.

Spirit of Wisdom (חָכְH2451. חָכְמָה ḥoḵmāh) - He is the only one that can truly apply knowledge or experience or understanding to every situation in life. It was mankind's lack of wisdom and understanding that led to seeking knowledge through the 'Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil', to only receive Sin and Death and Separation from God, instead of the desirable things Satan promised us. As Jesus said in John 8:44, Satan is a Liar and the Father of all Lies. Its only because of God's amazing love and grace that He did not leave us to the consequences of our Sin, but sacrificed Himself to save us.

Spirit of Understanding (H998. בִּינָה biynāh) - He is the only one who truly has the capacity for rational thought or inference or discrimination. and interestingly this word in its original Hebraic form occurs exactly 38 (19 x 2) times in the KJV Bible - God wants to impart His understanding to us, as we walk with Him.

Spirit of Counsel (H6098.עֵצָה‘ēṣāh) - He is the only one who can provide the proper direction or advice that we need in relation to a decision or course of action that affects our life and our walk with Him.

Spirit of Might (H1369. גְּבוּרָה geḇûrāh) - He has all Strength and all Power (Omnipotent). He is God Almighty - El Shaddai who can defeat every enemy in our life and bring us to Victory over the Darkness and Sin and Death. Spiritual warfare is not a battle between God and Satan, rather the battle rages in US, in our hearts and minds, and victory only comes when we Trust God, not the Lies and Lusts of Satan, that draw us away from our Heavenly Father and our Saviour in Jesus Christ. When we Sin, we grieve the Holy Spirit, but God's grace extends us forgiveness, if we Repent and turn back to Him. The war has been won by Jesus on the Cross and so we can choose to walk in it or not and when we are tempted to listen to the enemy our strategy should be threefold:

 - Praising God for who He IS and for His goodness to us;

 - Repentance (turning back to God away from our Sins) and ensuring we Forgive others, as God has forgiven us;

 - Scripture - speak out God's promises and protection from the enemy - Resist the Devil and he will flee.

Spirit of Knowledge (H1847. דַּעַת da‘aṯ) - Knowledge is not information, but is Existential. Ultimately, it is the psychological result of perception; learning; and reasoning; that is meant to be endowed to us by God. It is not something we can choose independently of Him without negative consequences. It was Eve's Perception and Reasoning in her quest for Knowledge that led to her into Deception and Adam's Disobedience to God's revealed Knowlege, by listening to his wife, that led to Mankind's fall and the entry of Sin and Death into God's perfect creation.

Spirit of Fear of the Lord (H3374. יִרְאָה yir’āh) This is the absolute Reverence for God that bring us LIFE. It will keep us from sinning and will lead us into a close relationship with the one who is the source of all we need, as it says in Philippians 4:19 "19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." In keeping with this, it is also interesting to note that this word in its original Hebraic form occurs exactly 45 times in the KJV Bible and 45 is the addition of every digit 0-9. So given that every Hebrew and Greek word has a number value and that all numbers are a product of the digits 0-9, then Scripture itself which has every truth of God that we need for life is comprised of these digits, that all add to 45, is another confirmation that He is all that we need

He is Perfect Everthing

However, Adam, who listened to his wife, who had been deceived by the Satan in the Serpent, instead of obeying God, sinned and mankind in Adam fell. So, this number 7, which in its perfect form is 7 x 7 = 49 is connected to Sabbath Cycles in the bible, would become the basis of man’s redemption and restoration. Its multiple 490 (49 x 10) that introduced the Law, which is symbolized by the number 10 (10 commandments written on stone and given to God’s people), would make 490 a symbol of God’s perfect forgiveness, as shown in Matthew 18:21-22:

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21-22

In this way, the 49 (7x7) associated with the Sabbaths, or God’s Rest for mankind, became 490 with Jesus because He came to fulfil the requirements of the Law, that stated the wages of Sin is Death. It would be His death, instead of ours, that would make the way for us to be forgiven for our Sins, and through this act of Grace, obtain Eternal Life.

In connecting Forgiveness to 490 by the formula of seventy times seven (70x7) in the Gospel of Matthew, the reader of God’s word is pointed back to Daniel’s 70 weeks, or 70 Sevens because the word translated weeks in Hebrew is שָׁבוּעַ, which is a masculine noun that simply means 7 units of something, and in the context of Daniel 9:24, it is referring to 70 lots of 7 years, or 490 years:

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Daniel 9:24

This not only becomes the basis of understanding the timing of Jesus’ First Coming, with it being a pointer to His Crucifixion, as the following passage shows:

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:25-26

But it also points to the time that is commonly referred to as the Tribulation and to the Anti-Christ, both of which are yet to come, in the final 7 years of this period of 490 years:

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9: -27

How God reverses the Curse

Importantly, God is very precise in all that He does, and in relation to Redemption, all of His actions precisely reverse the Curse. For example, one of the consequences of the Curse was that mankind was sent out of the Garden of Eden to the EAST, and all of Scripture shows that Redemption is coming from the East to bring man back into the Garden. An example of this is where God equates Jesus with the physical Sun, that we know always rises out of the East:

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2

In this respect, both the Tabernacle in the Wilderness and later the Temple of Solomon were both erected in an East -West alignment, such that you would enter by the Eastern side and the first item you would encounter would be the Bronze Altar, where the sacrifices were made. This was a symbol of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, as the Lamb of God.  Then you would keep moving to the West toward the Holy Place and finally to the Holy of Holies, where God’s Glory and Presence dwelt. This was all symbolic of returning to the Garden of Eden, where Man once walked with God. Even the Curtains to the Holy of Holies were decorated with Palm Trees, which are a symbol of Righteousness in the bible and of Gardens. This emphasizes the theme of the Tabernacle existing to be a restoration of God’s relationship with man, that began in the Garden, where He walked with Adam in the 'cool of the evening', and continued even in the Wilderness where God said:

12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. Leviticus 26:12

Notably, Jesus in Revelation is called the Tabernacle with Revelation 21: stating

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Revelation 21:3

And

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;” Hebrews 9:11.

So, Man went out from God in the Garden toward the East, into the Wilderness, and God in His amazing Love came out into the Wilderness to bring man back from the East to Himself.

Understanding this precision of God, helps us to understand that when God associates the ‘Redeemed’ with 99, it is because mankind in Adam fell at 99. This meant that mankind was walking with God in ‘Righteousness’ before the ‘Fall’ for 98 years, which was 49 x2, or two Sabbath Cycles of 49.

Also, as God is a Trinity and does many things in 3s, we can not only see why Jesus became the perfect Sacrifice at the age of 33 because 33 x 3 = 99, but we can see that this ‘Redemption’ also needed to involve the completion of the third Sabbath Cycle of 49 that did not occur in the garden because mankind had fallen after only completing 2 cycles, or 98 years (49x2). This is why the third cycle of 49 which becomes 490 because Jesus is completing it by fulfilling the Law, that man had failed to keep. Ultimately, this is how 490 became associated with finishing the transgression, and making an end of sins, and making reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, as recorded in Daniel.

Mentions of Jesus in the Bible

After noting that Jesus is the last Adam, and understanding the connection between the 98 years of the first Adam and the 490 or 70 times 7 of Jesus (the last Adam), that is symbolic of God’s perfect Forgiveness and Restoration, when we do a search of the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible for the name of Jesus, we find something quite amazing. The KJV was God’s official English Bible to the World for nearly 4 centuries before the advent of other modern translations and significantly it has written the name of our Saviour ‘JESUS’ exactly 980 times (490 x 2) in the New Testament.

The following observations about this are taken from the work by Brandon Peterson, who has a YouTube Site called “Truth is Christ”. He has many videos showing the amazing numerical patterns that God has hidden in the King James Version Bible, but the following link is to a video that deals specifically with the phenomenon of Jesus being mentioned 980 times in the KJV Bible:

https://youtu.be/Ag5U7kxcXCo

Essentially, Brandon’s excellent work (as per the Search results screen below) highlight firstly that Jesus’ name appears 980 times and details its connection to 490 and 70x 7 and it shows how this is not a coincidence, but is a deliberate design by God to emphasize His perfect forgiveness and to demonstrate how His hand of providence was upon the production of the text of the KJV.

However, I am taking this further here by using this amazing occurrence as a proof that the fall of mankind at 98 (two Sabbath Cycles of 49) and his Redemption through one remaining Sabbath Cycle of 490 (49 x10) can be seen by the way the name of Jesus is recorded in the New Testament.

Importantly, the 980 instances of Jesus are not randomly scattered throughout the New Testament, but they fall into an amazing pattern that absolutely prevents this being seen as an occurrence of chance. Basically, if you do two searches of the Bible for the name of Jesus, with the first search involving all of the ODD books of the New Testament and the second search involving all of the EVEN Books of the New Testament, you will find exactly 490 mentions of the name of JESUS in each, for a total of 980 in both, as per the Screen Shots below.

This is in spite of the Odd Books (Matthew, Luke, Acts,,,etc,) containing nearly twice the number of words than are in the Even Books (Mark, John, Romans etc.). In a quite insightful demonstration (see chart below), Brandon makes the point that while doing a search on commonly used words consistently produces nearly twice as many results in the Odd Books than the Even ones because there are nearly twice as many words in the Odd Books, this is not the case with the name of Jesus, it is the one exception that appears exactly 490 times in each search. Clearly, this is by supernatural design, not chance, because there were around nine different human authors over several decades, which make the idea of human collaboration impossible. As such, these findings by Brandon all help to add emphasis to what we are discussing here.

I would also recommend Brandon’s Web Site. He has many videos and resources with some astounding revelations and insights. It is available on the following link: Truth is Christ –

The Fall of Man  - and numbers 22, 100, 20 and 120

By establishing that mankind walked with God in righteousness for 98 years and then Fell at 99, we now have the foundation to explore how this results in some other numbers – namely 22, 100, 20 and 120, before we turn to the meaning and significance of 19 in the Bible.

98-22-120 – Israel and end of Striving

Firstly, we know that Jesus, as our Saviour, laid down His life to restore us to our original relationship with God, and we no know that His name is recorded 980 or 490 x 2 times in the New Testament, reflecting when this relationship changed. However, it is also important to recognize that Jesus, as the Messiah, is also called ISRAEL, God’s Perfect Son.

As such, ISRAEL is not only the new name of the Patriarch Jacob, whose Sons would give rise to the physical nation of Israel, through whom the Messiah would come, but it is also a Spiritual Nation that would be comprised of all who put their faith in the finished work of Christ

6 -- Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. Romans 9:6-8

and it would be a Jesus Himself fulfilling Spiritually what the physical nation could not do by itself –  In this way, Matthew 2:15, when talking about Jesus, quotes Hosea 11:1, equating Jesus with the nation of Israel:

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Matthew 2:15

Essentially, ISRAEL is the vehicle through whom God would save fallen humanity, and in this regard it is important to note that it is associated with the Number 22 (see here for further details related to Israel and 22) because it is the difference between 98 and 120, with the latter being the number that God stated would symbolize the extent of His Grace, as He stated in Genesis 6:

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. Genesis 6:3

So, 98 and 22 and 120 are all connected numbers, in that they define both the limits of God’s redemption that symbolically extends from 98-120 and the entity through whom God would achieve this redemption, being Israel, that is associated symbolically with the number 22.

In this respect, it is interesting to note that the name ISRAEL associated with 22 actually means ‘He who has Striven with God and Prevailed, while the number 120 is actually the opposite because it is about the limit of Gods Striving, so it represents those who have Striven with God, but not Prevailed because they have not turned back to Him – so in this way these numbers are definitely connected.

That God’s use of 120 was not also related to a limit on mankind’s age is seen by the fact that while it seems to be an age limit today, that was not always the case. In fact, for many centuries after the flood, well after God declared it as a limit of His striving with Sinful man, many people have lived beyond the 120-year limit. As such, many commentators have noted that when the 50-year Jubilee (which was always a year in which things that had been lost were restored), is multiplied by 120, it is equal to 6,000 years. This fits with the pattern of history that God has indicated will be the limit before He establishes His 7th day of Sabbath rest, with the 2 Peter 3:8 stating:

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant -- of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

Here we see that the 6 days of creation are reflected in the 6,000 years of human history that will soon culminate in the Rapture, Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ, before the 7th and final day of rest, that is known as the 1,000-year Millenium, begins.

Following that will be the 8th day, which is when God will create the new heaven and a new earth. It is the beginning of Eternity that never ends:

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Revelation 21:1

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

It is interesting to note that this 8th day that never ends finds its meaning in Jesus, who rose on the 1st or 8th Day of the Week, and whose name In Greek gematria - Jesus (Greek - Ιησούς) has a numerical value of 888.

So, Jesus is associated with both 22 (Israel) and 8 (new beginning) and fascinatingly this relationship between 22 and 8 can also be seen in music, which at its core is for worshipping the God of creation, who Redeems us. Essentially all musical notes are divided in Octaves (8 notes) with the 8th note beginning a new Octave, like Jesus who gave mankind a new beginning when he arose on the first day of the new week, or the 8th day and its connection to 22 can be seen as follows:

3 (the Godhead) Octaves of 8 (Jesus) = 22 Notes - CDEFGABCDEFGABCDEFGABC

100-20-120 – The First Generation and the Age of Responsibility

Further Support of 120 being the symbolic limit of God striving with Sinful man is seen by noting that the first generation of mankind were actually Cain and Able, since both Adam and Eve were special creations. In this regard, it is also important to note that since Adam and Eve were both sent out of the Garden, after they sinned at the age of 99, then the first generation was also born outside of the garden, when Adam turned 100. This is ultimately the origin of one of the definitions of a generation being 100 years, as inferred in the following scripture in Genesis 15, where God talking to Abraham states both that his Seed shall be afflicted for 400 years and that in the 4th generation, they shall be freed, thus 100 years per generation:

13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict -- them four hundred years; 14 And also -- that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. Genesis 15:13-16

Then knowing that 120, although not declared until the time of Noah, was still a limit in the heart of God, in relation to His creation, due to its further connection to the Jubilees, we can see another example of God imposing this limit in relation to Cain and Able.

Essentially, when Adam sinned, God declared that the Ground was cursed for his sake, but Adam himself was not directly cursed.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat -- the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Genesis 3:17-19

However, this changed when Cain killed Abel. In this instance, God for the first time directly cursed a human being saying:

11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened -- her mouth to receive thy brother’s -- blood from thy hand; 12 When thou tillest -- the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. Genesis 4:11-12

It is important to understand here that Cain and Abel were twins with their birth being described in Genesis 4:1:

1 And Adam knew -- Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore -- Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.2 And she again bore -- his brother -- Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. Genesis 4:1-2

Essentially the word translated here as ‘again‘ is actually the Hebrew word יָסַף (H3254. יָסַף yāsap̱), which has the primary meaning ‘to continue to do something’, and additionally the text does not state that Adam knew his wife a second time, before giving birth to Abel. So, the meaning is clear that Eve gave birth to Cain first and then continued to give birth to his twin brother Abel.

So now we can see that since Adam would have been 100 when the first generation were born and 120 when Cain at the age of 20 killed his brother Abel, we can finally understand why Cain was cursed. Adam had literally reached God’s symbolic limit for striving with sinful man and so for the first time God pronounced a curse upon a sinful man, in Adam’s son Cain, who had allowed anger to rise to such a degree that it resulted in the first death of a human being.

This also helps to explain why 20 became the ‘age of responsibility’ because it was the number of years between Adam giving rise to the first generation at 100 years old and that generation reaching God’s 120 limit, when Cain at 20 years of age killed Abel.

This also accounts for why Jews had to be 20 years or older to be able to serve in the Temple as shown in 1 Chronicles 23:24:

24 These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward. 1 Chronicles 23:24

and why all Israelites 20 years old and over, who had not trusted God during the Exodus, but rather had believed the bad report of the spies, had to die out in the wilderness, rather than enter the Promised Land as God had intended:

26 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron saying, 27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which -- murmur against me? I have heard -- the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, -- as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: 29 Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, 30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make -- you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. Numbers 14:26-30

Ultimately, only Moses; Joshua and Caleb had trusted God, but since Moses had reached that symbolic age of 120, God said it was his time to die, even though the text makes it clear that physically he was not weak or sick at all. Effectively, God was emphasizing that everything is at an appointed time and that Joshua, whose name in Hebrew is יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (Yehoshua) and is abbreviated to Jeshua יֵשׁ֨וּעַ (Yeshua) in Nehemiah 8:17 which is the same as Jesus (Yeshua), would be the one to take God’s People into the Promised Land:

17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness. Nehemiah 8:17

It was a picture or foreshadow of Jesus taking all who believe in Him and Trust Him to Heaven (the Promised Land for all Believers) in the Rapture.

19 –Being Hidden with Christ in God

To be 'Hidden with Christ in God' is a New Testament term used in Colossians 3:

3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3 (ESV)

but as a principal was applied to all believers prior to Christ's Incarnation as being 'Hidden in God'. These Old Testament believers understood that God was also their Redeemer, such as Job who said in Job 19:

25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: Job 19:25

And in a Psalm of David, where he recognized and declared that God was his Hiding Place:

7 You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah Psalms 32:7

Now with all of this background, we can see how 19 becomes associated with those who are ‘Hidden with Christ’ or 'Hidden in God' because 20 was the 'age of responsibility' or accountability, but those 19 and under in the wilderness were covered by God’s grace and regardless of what they had believed at the time, because they were under the age of 20, they would now be allowed to enter the promised land with Joshua. So here 19 is the age limit of those whose sins were ‘Hidden in God’ and for which they were not accountable when it came to entering the promised Land. Only those 20 years and older were held accountable for their unbelief.

In this regard, we note that there is a flip side to 19 and being ‘hidden’ in that while one person can be ‘hidden’ another person in association with 19 can be unhidden and exposed to face Judgement in one form or another. Clearly this was the case with the Israelites, when they were entering the Promised Land, in that when the ‘20-year-old’ age rule was applied, those covered by being 19 and under were protected while simultaneously everyone else, except for Joshua and Caleb who were older, but trusted, were Judged.

In another example, that can be seen in history of Israel, 19 was associated with a period of time that alternatively represented God's presence in His Spirit leaving and then later God’s presence by His Spirit Returning. In this respect, His Leaving resulted in Judgement, while His Returning brought blessing, as follows:

 - 605 BC - Nebuchadnezzar first attacks Jerusalem and takes some captives to Babylon.

 - 586 BC – Then 19 years later Nebuchadnezzar finally destroys the temple, but just before he does this Ezekiel in chapters 10 and 11 records that the Presence and Spirit of God came to the Threshold of the Temple and paused ( this could be understood as though He were looking on in sadness of leaving his people knowing what was coming, just as the shortest verse in the Bible was Jesus Wept, as He saw the Future destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD by Titus the Roman General). Significantly, He then leaves to the East and goes out to the Mount of Olives before disappearing – see relevant verses below:.

4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’s glory. Ezekiel 10:4

22 So the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was high above them. 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the city. Ezekiel 11:22-23

Importantly, this Judgement was 19 years after Nebuchadnezzar first attacked Jerusalem. Then if you fast-forward nearly 2,000 years when God's people were back in the Land, under their own rule in 1948, but they did not control or have access to East Jerusalem or the Temple Mount and you go  exactly another 19 years to 1967, God supernaturally gives His people a victory over the enemy and they regain control over East Jerusalem and most importantly, the Temple Mount. This is a picture of God’s Spirit returning to His people, particularly with reference to the symbolism of the Temple Mount that was the very place that God’s Spirit had left 2,552 years earlier.

Importantly, for the 19 years between 605 BC and 586 BC, the Temple Mount and the God’s Chosen People had been hidden, and Judgement in the form of the destruction of the Temple was delayed and did not occur until the end of that 19-year period. Then in the 19-year period from 1948 to 1967 God was again protecting the very existence of His people and while the enemy was surrounding them, they could not destroy them because they were 'hidden in God' and ultimately at the 19-year mark of their rebirth, God blessed Israel and simultaneously Judged the Nations, in the miraculous Six-Day war of 1967.

Clearly, these 19-year events are significant occurrences in the history of God’s people in the Land of Promise, but it does not end there because notably these two events, that relate to God’s presence with His people, centre on the Temple / Temple Mount, which was the very place that His Glory manifested. So if you consider the time period that relates to the first Temple of Solomon, that actually had the Ark of the Covenant in it, with the Mercy Seat on Top along with two Cherubim between which God’s actual presence resided, most commentators agree that Solomon began to build it in 966 BC and it lasted until it was Destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC. So doing the math’s again we get the following:

966 – 586 = 380 or 19 x 20 years

Amazingly, this first temple in which there was a visible manifestation of God’s Presence because it contained the Ark of the Covenant existed for 380 years an exact multiple of 19, the symbol of His Presence and being protected and hidden in God. Importantly, the multiplier was 20, which as we saw was the age that God considered to be the 'age of responsibility', the age from which He considers us to be accountable and it was the age from which God’s people could serve in this Temple. In this way, it reflects the personal decision we all need to make as adults, if we want to have God’s presence in our life, through His Holy Spirit.

Additionally, given the connection here to the Temple and both 19 and its multiple, seen as 380 or 38 x 10, it is worth noting that one of the features of the Tribulation will be the existence of a third Temple and scripture supports that the Tribulation will begin with the Rapture. So, from this perspective the numbers become interesting because there are a number of parallels between the 6th Seal of Revelation and Ezekiel 38, the future Gog / Magog War, that suggests the latter is actually the event that will both trigger the Rapture and start the Tribulation (Click link here to read more on this).

In this way, God’s use of 19 could possibly contain hidden clues to the Rapture, noting that just as the Sabbath Cycles of 49 (7x7) became 490, a picture of ultimate rest by being connected to making an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy (Daniel 9:24), all because Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the Law, represented by the number 10 and dying in our place. Then similarly, 38 (19 x2) x 10 could become the ultimate fulfilment of God’s Presence in the form of the Rapture, in connection with the Events described in Ezekiel 38, which is a chapter number related to 19, in that 19 x 2 = 38.

Other Examples

Other examples of being Hidden with Christ and being protected from Judgement and from the enemy include Job. Now while his story is well known and it would not at first appear to be about being 'Hidden with Christ', given the extent of his suffering, there are a few things to note.

Hebrew like Greek is an alphanumeric language where each of the letter has a value and for Job the addition of these values is 19 as follows:

אִ‎ = 1

יּ‎ - 10

וֹ‎ - 6

ב‎ - 2

אִיּוֹב - Job = 19 – he represented all these themes (Protection and Judgement) in one person, being both at different times, both protected by God, and then on the end of judgement. Notably though, when the Tests were finished, they were followed by protection and blessing again. Through all of this, it is important to understand that it was only because he was ‘hidden in God’ that Satan could do nothing to him without first getting permission. Most of us open the door to the enemy ourselves by our own sin.

12 And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:12

Eve also had a name that was 19 in value, as follows:

ח‎ = 8

ַוָּ‎ = 6

ה‎ - 5

חַוָּה - Eve = 19 - she was ‘hidden in God’ and not held accountable for the fall of mankind, rather God said she was deceived and so for disobeying God's Command, Childbirth would become very painful and her husband would rule over her.

Another occurrence of 19 comes from the unique relationship between God and Man. This can be seen by noting the values of their names in Hebrew, as follows:

God's personal name (the Tetragrammaton translated variously as either Jehovah or Yahweh) is:

 יהוה = 26, as follows:

י‎ = 10

ה‎ = 5

ו‎ = 6

ה‎ = 5

and Man’s name, in Adam, is אָדָם = 45, as follows:

א = 1

ד‎ = 4

ם ‎= 40

19 is the difference between the values of the two names, so symbolically mankind, who is made in God's image (26) and was from the day that he was created in Adam (45) 'hidden in God' (45-26 = 19), he was both blessed and protected from Judgement. Essentially, Satan was not allowed into the Garden of Eden until mankind had completed two Sabbath periods of 49 (7x7) = 98 and Adam was in his 99th year. Then Satan entered and began his temptation and deception of Eve, which ultimately resulted in the 'Fall of Man'.

19 Kings officially ruled over the northern kingdom of Israel before Judgement came upon them, after which they were carried away by the Assyrians. So up to this time, though they were sinning, they were 'hidden in God's mercy' with Judgement only coming after the rule of the 19th disobedient king.

2. Nadab: 910-909 BC

3. Baasha: 909-886 BC

4. Elah: 886-885 BC

5. Zimri: 885 BC (reigned for 7 days)

6. Omri: 885-874 BC

7. Ahab: 874-853 BC

8. Ahaziah: 853-852 BC

9. Joram (Jehoram): 852-841 BC

10. Jehu: 841-814 BC

11. Jehoahaz (Joahaz): 814-798 BC

12. Jehoash (Joash): 798-782 BC

13. Jeroboam II: 782-753 BC

14. Zachariah: 753 BC (reigned for 6 months)

15. Shallum: 753 BC (reigned for 1 month)

17. Pekahiah: 742-740 BC

18. Pekah: 740-732 BC

19. Hoshea: 732-722 BC

This is particularly significant when you consider that because the separate kingdom of the 10 northern tribes of Israel ended after the 19th King was captured and the people were taken into exile to Assyria, this left the remain 2 Tribes of Benjamin and Judah to continue ruling in the South with their worship centred in Jerusalem. As a result the people are still known today as Jews, after the tribe of Judah, instead of Israelites. However, Israel as a nation was reborn in 1948 and all of the tribes will one day be again fully represented there.

Jesus quoted from the book of Psalms (Psalm 22 - the number of Israel) while on the Cross. Psalms is the 19th book in our Bible, and it reminds us that all believers are 'hidden in Christ' on the Cross, with His Death and Resurrection being imputed to us. Psalm 19 also includes themes of the Law and Judgement and highlights that by keeping them (which we know is only possible by the power of the Holy Spirit) we open our life up to great reward and protection from judgement - essentially emphasizing the benefits of being 'hidden in God'.

11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. Psalms 19:11

Terah the father of Abraham, who is the Father of our faith, was the 19th generation from Adam and his name comes from the verb תרח (tarah), to patiently breathe, from רוח (ruah), wind, breath or spirit. So again, it is related to the 'presence of God' in the Spirit - In Aramaic, the denominative verb תרח (tarah) does not emphasize breathing, but rather waiting, or standing somewhere just breathing. As such, it came to denote delaying some specified event (like an announced departure or procedure), and even the aimless wandering that might precede one's focused decision on where to deliberately go. In this way, it could also be seen as the protection that comes from being 'hidden in God' in that Judgement can be delayed for a time.

Interestingly, in Joshua chapter 19, that is discussing the division of the Land amongst the tribes, Naphtali's portion is described and in verse 38 (19x2) after listing the fenced cities (which represents God's protection, like being hidden in God) that they were allotted, it says that there were 19 walled cities with their villages, which are listed as:

35 And the fortified cities are Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath, and Beth Shemesh: nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages. Joshua 19:35-39

Importantly, Isaiah prophesied that Naphtali would be honored:

1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the JordanIsaiah 9:1 (NIV)

This honor came with the incarnation of Jesus Christ. All Jesus’ disciples, but Judas who betrayed Him, hailed from the Galilee, and much of Jesus’ ministry took place there. Isaiah 9 says:

2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

So again, we see a connection between 19 and being 'hidden in GOD’s Presence', with Napthali's land being a part of the Galilee where Jesus, as God Incarnate, spent most of His time.

It is also worth noting that the word Galilee (גָּלִיל) in Hebrew is related to the word Gilgal (גִּלְגָּל) the name of the first place that the Israelites set up camp, when they entered the promised land. It was named Gilgal because in Joshua 5:9 God spoke to Joshua (a type of Jesus):

“9 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away -- the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of -- the place is called Gilgal unto this day.” Joshua 5:9

In this regard, the word 'rolling' comes from the Hebrew word Galal (גָּלַל) and the name Gilgal (גִּלְגָּל) is a noun that is derived from it. As a name for a place, it emphasised the idea of rolling like a wheel and the ancient site was set up with large stones in a circle to reflect this idea. Importantly, while its original intent was to be a reminder of how God had rolled away the reproach of Egypt, in their recent past, it was also a prophetic word play that only God could  fulfil in that it was a pointer to the related word Galilee that would be associated with ministry of Jesus, who was rolling away the reproach of sin and death on our lives. Most notably this was seen to occur at the Resurrection when Jesus' Gravestone was literally 'rolled away' to reveal His victory over Sin and Death, that was now leading to new life.

So, there is literally a connection between our being 'hidden with Christ' through His whole ministry, that was founded in the area of the Galilee, that is itself connected to the number 19, as part of Napthali's portion. Interestingly, the name Napthtali means 'my wrestlings' similar to when Jacob wrestled with God:

24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. Genesis 32:24

who ultimately said to him that

Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Genesis 32:28  (ESV)

or depending upon which translation you use:

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Genesis 32:28 (NIV)

The significance of this is that in 'wrestling' with God and prevailing Jacob became ISRAEL, both a physical nation and a spiritual nation, that represented all believers who put the faith in the one whose ministry was in the land associated with Naphtali's portion, that is connected to 19 and the Galilee, where Jesus came to roll away the Reproach of our Sin and Death.

God is amazing how He ties all these themes and numbers together throughout History and then reveals it to us so that we can know with absolute certainty that we can trust Him with our lives.

19 and its connection to some Timing Clues

Finally, in a connection that points to a possible timing clue to God’s Plan for Redemption, it is worth noting again that God often does things in three, so with regard to 19 we can see that it is directly connected to 57 (19 x 3 = 57) and 57 is the number of days that Noah remained inside the Ark after the flood had ended and the waters were dried up from the earth:

13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. Genesis 8:13-16

As the Ark was a picture of Christ, this symbolically represented a period of time in which Noah and his family were protected or 'Hidden with Christ' or 'Hidden in God'.

While the Bible doesn't explicitly state that Noah's Ark is a picture of Christ, many Christian theologians and scholars interpret the story of Noah's Ark as a foreshadowing or typology of Christ and salvation. Here are some parallels often drawn:

  1. Ark as a Refuge: Just as Noah's Ark was a place of safety and refuge from he flood, Christ is seen as a refuge and savior from the judgment of sin.
  2. One Way of Salvation: There was only one ark and one door to enter it, symbolizing that there is only one way to salvation through Christ.
  3. God’s Provision: God provided the ark as a means of salvation for Noah and his family, just as He provided Jesus Christ for the salvation of humanity.

These interpretations are based on passages such as 1 Peter 3:20-21:

20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand —with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. 1 Peter 3:20-22 (NIV)

And Matthew 24:37-39:

37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:37-39  (NIV)

These verses draw connections between Noah's Ark and the salvation offered through Christ. So, the number 57, which is 3 times 19 and which represent the number of days that Noah and his family remained in the Ark after the Flood had finished, when the ground was dry, represent a period where God’s people remain with Christ before a new beginning on the 58th day.

Significantly, the Rapture, like the spiritual nature of 19, would be both a blessing for those who are in Christ and a Judgement for those who have rejected Him, so it is interesting that if you add multiples of 19 to two key events associated with Israel (God’s chosen nation), regaining some of the Land that God Promised them, then you get:

1948 (Israel reborn) + 76 (19 x 4) = 2024

1967 (East Jerusalem and Temple Mount restored) + 57 (19 x 3) = 2024

Both result in 2024, then if you apply the principal of the 58th day of Noah, that recognizes that the next day (after spending 57 in the Ark after the judgement passed, or the next year in this instance), would be a part of their new beginning then you get:

 2024 + 1 = 2025

This is particularly interesting when you note that the word for Noah and Grace in Hebrew are the the reverse of each other in that they both have the same two letters:

נֹחַ – Noah

חֵן - Grace

And obviously since both have the same two letters, they also have the same gematria value of 58.

So, the man whose name has the value of 58 came out of the Ark after having been used by God to be a source of Grace that has the value of 58 to his family on the 58th day, after the judgement of the flood ended, and their new life began.

So could it be that in the 58th year after 1967 when God restored all of Jerusalem (the City He has placed His name on) to His people, along with the Temple Mount, the place where His literal presence had resided in Solomon’s Temple, that God could give His people a new beginning:

1967 + 58 = 2025

Final Thought

Regardless of whether 2025 is the Rapture or some other major event on God’s Timeline of Redemption, these are certainly times that His people should be watching closely so that they do not get caught out like a Thief in the Night, or be unprepared like the 5 Virgins who did not have enough oil in their lamps, as described in Matthew 24.

Either way, we know that Jesus is coming back sooner than most people think. If interested, I also touched on some of this timing information in another article that can be accessed at the following link - Methuselah’s Age: 969 and it’s hidden timing clues - Essentially, that article discusses how God built a hidden pointer to a lot of this timing into the Genealogy from Adam to Noah and used Methuselah’s age to provide the timing clues.
